DISCOVER OUR MOBILE LIGHTING RANGE
Labérine offers you a wide range ofrobust mobile LED lighting suitable for all types of use and work. In addition, our entire lighting range is equipped with LEDs.
In fact, depending on the desired wattage, illumination level, type of use, indoor and outdoor environment (e.g. 24-volt confined spaces), budget constraints or even standards to be complied with such as explosive atmospheres (ATEX)Labérine offers several types ofLED lighting:
We offer a wide range of range of LED construction site floodlights, which includes two distinct product categories: wired LED floodlights, and rechargeable LED floodlights.
For temporary construction sites, we offer a range of range of auxiliary lighting. These include 24V and 230V tubes, as well as 25M and 50M flexible neon LED ribbons.
Discover also our area lightingdesigned to illuminate even the largest outdoor construction sites. In this category, you'll find LUMAPHORE®, 400W/600W illuminating balloons, as well as our lighting tower models.
If you're limited in terms of storage or space when you're on the move, but still need a sufficient light source to work with, you'll find what you need in the category portable lighting. If your lighting needs are small, we also offer small-format lighting. In this category, you'll find products such as torches/flashlights, headlamps...
For sites subject to humidity or operating in conditions that are potentially dangerous for people, we have a range of 24V lighting range of high-performance, reliable products.
To help you select the right solution for your needs and job sites, we've put together some advice from our experts to help you make the right choice.
What wattage should you choose for your outdoor LED floodlights?
To determine which wattage is best suited to your site, several factors need to be taken into account, such as electrical power, specific requirements (indoor, outdoor, humid environment...), as well as the height at which you will be using your lighting...
Take these parameters into account:
- Electrical power: taking into account the current economic climate, as well as government requirements regarding energy expenditure, it's necessary to find the right balance between your lighting needs and the operating costs these may generate. More powerful floodlights will illuminate larger areas, but will involve higher running costs than more moderate-sized floodlights.
- Operating requirements: some worksites are subject tostringent safety requirements, such as wet zones requiring 24V lighting (Labérine has a wide range and expertise in this sector). Other zones, such as explosive atmospheres (ATEX), also require very specific products, for which Labérine offers a wide and varied range of quality products. What's more, the criteria for indoor and outdoor lighting vary enormously.
- Operating height: depending on the height at which your lighting fixtures are mounted, they will require greater or lesser lighting power to effectively illuminate your worksites. The higher the spotlight, the greater the power required to guarantee optimum ground lighting.
Finally, the power required by an LED floodlight, whether for indoor or outdoor use, depends mainly on the size of the area to be lit, its operating conditions and the height at which your lights will be used.
What criteria should you take into account when choosing your site lighting?
By taking all your needs into account and planning ahead, you can be sure that your lighting will perfectly match your requirements:
- Power (in Watts and Lumens) according to the size of your job: the larger the job, the more power it will require. For small jobs, use a 50 to 100 watt spotlight, producing up to 10,000 Lumens. For medium-sized sites, opt for a 100 to 600 watt solution, producing between 10,000 and 75,000 Lumens. For large sites, you'll need more than 1,000 watts, delivering between 75,000 and around 200,000 Lumens.
- Power supply conditions: depending on the type of site, it may be necessary to fit floodlights operating at voltages other than mains voltage (230V), such as very low voltage, operating at 12V and/or 24V. To do this, you also need to ensure that your installation converts the mains current to a lower voltage, using safety transformers.
- Type of installation: some sites allow spotlights to be fixed to stands or poles, others don't. For this, you need to choose a product offering the option that best suits your needs. Some of our spotlights, such as the GALAXY PRO, can be attached to metal brackets, thanks to an option that allows you to install a magnetized bracket at the base.
- Protection rating: whenworking on outdoor sites, it's crucial to choose a high protection rating (IP) to guarantee the safety of your products. A higher IP rating ensures better sealing, thus reducing potential risks. In addition, it is essential to take into account the possibility of shocks and to choose an appropriate IK index for your products, to protect them effectively in these conditions.
- Range and beam angle: another criterion to consider. If your site is a large, open area, give priority to lighting with a wide beam. For narrower, more restricted areas, choose a lower beam angle (e.g. for closed rooms or wall lighting).
What color temperature for your site lighting
To measure the temperature of a color and its rendering, a unit of measurement called degrees Kelvin (°K) is used. This measurement determines the hue of light emitted by a lighting fixture. Different color temperatures correspond to different uses. Color temperature is a crucial criterion to take into account, as it can have a direct influence on performance when working on construction sites.
Typically, these temperatures include :
- Warm white (1,000°K to 3,500°K): a "warm" white color, close to daylight but slightly yellow/orange, this temperature creates a warm, welcoming atmosphere. Little used in the professional world, it's generally intended for home use in gardens, courtyards, patios...
- Neutral white (3,500°K to 4,500°K): neutral white is closer to a "classic" white, allowing more detail to be seen than with a warmer color. It is the temperature closest to natural daylight. In these shades, you'll find 25M and 50M LED ribbons (variable color temperature, on demand) and the Kanga Star rechargeable spotlight.
- Cool white (4,500°K to 10,000°K): with its slightly bluish tones, this color temperature is more stimulating and less hard on the eyes over the long term. Most of our range is equipped with LEDs with this color rendering, such as the GALAXY PRO rechargeable spotlight, the TWINSTAR CONNECT spotlight or LUMAPHORE®.
The ideal temperature for bringing light to all types of worksite is between 4,000°K and 7,000°K.
What are the advantages of LED site lighting?
LEDs have been appearing in our homes for several years now, and offer numerous advantages that will help you improve productivity and performance on your worksites. Economical, simple and effective, these are just some of the main reasons why you should buy this type of lighting:
- Moderate energy consumption: LEDs consume less energy to produce more light than their alternatives (halogens, etc.). They are therefore less costly to operate over the long term.
- Extended service life: designed to last around 50,000 hours for most of the products available from Labérine. What's more, they require little or no maintenance, and can operate for years without replacement. Another advantage of LEDs is their low heat emission.
- Modular as required: a definite advantage of LEDs is that they can be adapted to any application and optimized as required, to offer better yields or improved performance. For example, they can be connected in series ("COB" LEDs), facilitating maintenance and optimizing light output.
- More robust: LED lighting is generally more robust than halogen lighting. More resistant to shock and weather, they are ideal for professional use, especially outdoors.
- Ease of use: LED lights have no warm-up time and light up instantly, as soon as you plug them in or switch them on.
