LIGHTING TOWERS: LIGHTING FOR THE LARGEST WORKSITES

What is a site lighting tower?

A lighting tower is an essential piece of equipment on construction sites, providing powerful, uniform illumination to ensure worker safety and productivity, even on the largest sites. These towers generally consist of a solid base (structure or legs), a tripod or telescopic mast that can be extended, and one or more lighting heads at the top. Some of them have their own power source (diesel/petrol/hybrid generator or lithium-ion battery), while others need tobe powered by an external energy source (mains power, energy suitcase, site battery or generator).

How do you choose the right site lighting tower for your activity?

A lighting tower is a more or less complex structure designed to bring light to isolated locations: construction sites, sporting or musical events in rural areas, emergency interventions in the middle of nowhere, and so on. A lighting tower generally features a mast, supported by legs or a base structure, and carries lighting lamps at the top. Some lighting towers have their own power source, and can also be mobile. Labérine offers a wide range of lighting solutions to suit all sectors of activity. For medium-sized and large worksites, lighting towers are particularly suitable. Whether you work in the construction, railway or emergency (rescue) sectors, you're sure to find a lighting tower to suit your activity.

To choose the lighting tower that best suits your needs, it's essential to anticipate a few key points:

  • Power availability : it's not always easy to supply power to remote or cramped construction sites, where there's no direct access to mains power. For these situations, we offer lighting towers with their own power source, either integrated generators or rechargeable site batteries. For those without, we also offer a range of power supplies for your worksites.
  • The size of your worksite: some work areas can be very large, so we offer lighting systems that provide sufficient, reliable illumination for up to 5,000m², enough to light even the largest jobsites.
  • Conditions of use : as mentioned above, some worksites can be difficult to access and require special logistics. For this reason, some of our lighting towers are equipped with wheels (like the TF4 or the K65 MK5), making them easy to transport and bring to your site by hand, without the need for a motorized vehicle. It's also important to anticipate the terrain on which the machine will be placed, to avoid the risk of tipping. Some of our products are very well anchored to the ground, anticipating all risks, even violent winds.

It's essential to know these points in advance, so you can anticipate your needs and choose a solution that meets your expectations. If you need connections, transformers, extension leads, etc., we also offer a wide range of electrical distribution systems that we can customize on request.

What are the uses of a lighting tower?

A lighting tower can be used on a building site, at an event, by the emergency services or for industrial purposes. A distinction can be made between light, mobile lighting towers and those that are heavier or have their own power source.

They are generally intended for use on large outdoor sites, as their spotlights are optimized for lighting large areas. They are highly versatile and adaptable to your needs, with lighting heads whose brightness can be adjusted in most cases. The spotlights on the lighting towers in our entire range can be adjusted from 180° to 360°, to illuminate your work areas more precisely and ensure greater safety.

Their average installation time is around 3 minutes (for "compact" models), and they light up instantly. So it won't take you long to immerse your worksite in a safe, reliable and powerful light.

What are the functionalities of our different lighting towers?

Dimensions of our site lighting towers

Our range of construction lighting towers can be divided into the following groups:

  • Compact" lighting towers: these are models with moderate dimensions "when folded up", easily transportable in the boot of a car or van. These include the K65 MK5 and the TF4.
  • High-power" lighting towers: here we find larger models that require a trailer for transport, such as the CTF10 or the CUBE+. We also offer a model that can be attached to a hitch and towed on the road: the V20. For more information, see our "lighting trailers" products.

ATTENTION: an E license is required to transport a road-towed lighting tower - V20.

As we mentioned earlier, we can distinguish between lightweight lighting towers and larger ones. Lightweight lighting towers like the TF4, or the standard K65, can be carried in a medium-sized bag, in the boot of a van for example. Deployment and installation are very easy: less than 3 minutes for a single person, even in the dark. Some towers have a tripod to deploy and install, on which the lighting head is placed, while others are masts integrated into a structure, fitted with a manual winch or hydraulic jack deployment system. Pole rotation is usually manual.

The different power sources for our lighting towers: the difference between a lighting tower with and without a generator

Some towers have their own power supply, while others need to be connected to the mains or to an independent power source (generator or stand-alone power pack).

The lighting towers requiring external connection are: the TF4, the K65 MK5 and the CTF10-based tower. They embody versatility and ease of use.

Lighting towers with their own power sources are: the CUBE +-based tower (integrated diesel, petrol or hybrid generator) and the V20, also considered a lighting trailer (towable on the road).

In any case, it's essential that the power source for these lights provides a stable, regular 230V supply, to avoid any malfunction or drop in efficiency. Once powered, these towers light up automatically and instantaneously, providing full-power illumination (or not, if brightness is adjustable) without any warm-up time, thanks to latest-generation LEDs.

Our different lighting towers, a solution for every need!

Discover the main features of our range

TF4: this provides 58,000 Lumens of light output, enough to illuminate an 850 m² worksite. It must be connected to a 230V power supply.

The K65 MK5: despite its compact size when folded, this tower is designed to illuminate even the largest construction sites. It also requires a 230V electrical connection and delivers a total output of 195,000 Lumens (in its largest version), which can be rotated through 180° or 360°.

CTF10-based lighting tower: this powerful lighting device needs to be towed to your site, and its hydraulically-powered telescopic mast can reach an impressive height of 10 metres, providing an area of 5,000m² with ideal illumination thanks to its 184,000 Lumens.

Lighting tower on CUBE+ base: also requires towing to reach your operating area. The CUBE+ offers the longest available autonomy in our range. In its hybrid version, it reaches a total autonomy of 707 hours without interruption, with a high power output of 140,000 Lumens, lighting up up to 4,500m².
