To meet this ever-present need on construction sites and at events, Labérine offers a wide range of products adapted to these activities. Whether you're looking for a blue-rate or yellow-rate metering cabinet, or a customized distribution cabinet, we've got the right solution for you. Let's find out more about the specifics of each cabinet!
What is a distribution cabinet?
As mentioned above, a distribution cabinet plays a key role in all your operations involving energy. Unlike a metering cabinet, it ensures the correct distribution of energy to different circuits or equipment, while keeping everyone safe. Now let's talk about its use. A distribution cabinet, like the one proposed by Labérine, is used well downstream of a metering cabinet. It is effective when the energy has been protected and measured for a circuit breaker.
Where can I find a distribution cabinet?
Our switchgear cabinets can be found in various sectors of activity:
Construction sites: there are many workstations in these areas. In this case, the distribution cabinet will enable us to supply all these activities in complete safety. What's more, this equipment offers energy distribution in separate circuits for each trade. This considerably facilitates maintenance operations in the event of individual outages.
Warehouses or industrial buildings: similar to construction sites, the distribution cabinet is used to segment the electrical installation according to activity zones. The use of a distribution cabinet in this type of structure not only helps to manage energy consumption, but also enhances safety. Opting for this energy solution gives you the option of cutting off or restoring the power supply zone by zone. Here, we're referring to maintenance operations, for example.
Temporary events: for a variety of events such as festivals, trade shows, fairs or even Christmas markets, various electrical installations are required. A switchgear cabinet is a crucial piece of equipment for the smooth organization and execution of all your indoor and outdoor events.
Of course, a distribution cabinet doesn't work on its own. It needs to be accompanied by a metering cabinet to measure and bill the energy used in the absence of access to an installed fixed electrical network.
What is a metering cabinet?
A metering cabinet, as its name suggests, is used to count the electricity consumption of any type of installation. It creates the link between the public distribution network and the private installation. We find it on the same occasions as the distribution cabinet mentioned above. Metering boxes are divided into different tariffs: blue, yellow and green. These three tariffs indicate different powers. For blue-rate metering cabinets, the power varies up to 36 kVA, up to 250 kVA for yellow-rate metering cabinets, and above 250 kVA we speak of green-rate metering cabinets. Labérine Énergie offers a range of blue and yellow tariff metering cabinets. Discover our different distribution solutions adapted to your needs.
What is the C4 offer and how does it replace Tarif jaune?
For high powers, i.e. yellow and green tariff meter cabinets, regulated electricity tariffs in France were only offered by EDF. In 2016, as part of the liberalization of the energy market imposed by the European Union, these tariffs were abolished for professionals. The aim was to end EDF's monopoly and open up the market to other energy suppliers. Following this reform, the former Yellow Tariff subscriptions were switched to so-called "market" offers. These offers include the new low-voltage electricity supply standard for medium and high-power customers, known as C4. This new standard is the equivalent of the yellow tariff, but allows suppliers to vary their pricing conditions (contract duration, price per kWh, peak and off-peak hours, for example). Of course, the name "yellow tariff" is still used today, but it no longer corresponds to an official offer. The terms "low-voltage C4 offer" and "market offer" are now used for all wattages.
Blue Tariff cabinet: for which needs and which powers?
The blue tariff metering cabinet is the small power equipment. It can be single-phase 230V for very low consumption, or three-phase 400V for more demanding applications. The power of the blue tariff metering box does not exceed 36kVA. It's ideal for small construction sites, temporary premises and buildings with low energy consumption. The blue tariff metering box features a connection circuit breaker and a pre-wired space for the meter. Some also provide electrical distribution with or without sockets. In this case, the complete temporary cabinet is ready for use. Labérine offers several blue-rate meter cabinets: single-phase, tetraphase with or without electrical distribution.
Our range includes single-phase or tetraphase 30/60A blue tariff metering cabinets. Housed in metal enclosures, our blue-rate meter cabinets are extremely robust. With IP44 protection, power ratings up to 36 kVA and galvanized sheet steel cladding, they can be padlocked and installed indoors. All our blue tariff cabinets can be customized.
For power requirements above 36 kVA. Labérine Énergie offers yellow tariff metering cabinets up to 250 kVA.
Yellow Tariff cabinet: what solution for power ratings above 36 kVA?
Yellow tariff metering cabinets are designed to meet higher power requirements. They are mainly intended for businesses, local authorities or industrial installations. More commonly known as medium-power metering cabinets, they are adapted to the diverse needs of professionals. This equipment generally offers the possibility of optimizing consumption management through load curves and tariff options.
160A/250A/400A yellow tariff metering cabinets and boxes: robust thanks to their metal enclosures, with IP44 protection. These metering cabinets are configurable. They are available for power ratings from 36 to 250 kVA, and also feature a lifting ring and handles for easy transport. As required by the standard, they feature a connection circuit breaker and a pre-wired space for the meter.
Various meter cabinets are available, such as single-phase or tetraphase blue or yellow tariffs, and with or without electrical distribution.
