Mobile lighting masts: an alternative to site lighting towers

Whether it's for events, emergency services, railways, roadworks or construction, there's one solution that has won over many professionals thanks to its many advantages: the mobile lighting column!

Mobile lighting columns are 360° lighting systems that use powerful LED spotlights to illuminate large areas. They are powered from the mains, or via a rechargeable lithium-ion battery or hybrid system, unlike lighting towers, which are usually powered by generators.

Their main advantage lies in their ease of use, maneuverability and compact yet powerful format.

But what are the real differences between these two types of lighting?

What's the difference between a site lighting tower and a mobile lighting column?

Although similar in format and use, there are a few differences between a site lighting tower and a mobile lighting column.

Weight: unlike lighting towers, mobile lighting masts are designed to be very compact and lightweight, so you can take them with you wherever you go.

Set-up time: mobile lighting columns take just a few minutes to set up, and can be installed by a single person.

Power : while lighting masts offer high luminous power to illuminate most worksites, lighting towers are better suited to very large worksites and offer more extensive light coverage. The power of our mobile lighting masts ranges from 83,000 to 195,000 Lumens.

Mobility : mobile lighting masts are designed to be stored and moved very easily, by just one person, and can be put in a car boot, unlike lighting towers which require towing or a special device to move them. They're also much quicker to install, allowing you to move your light source anywhere on your site, without worrying about an electrical connection.

Noise pollution: lighting towers are generally powered by built-in petrol or diesel generators, producing high decibels all the time, unlike mobile lighting masts, which are powered by totally silent lithium-ion batteries or via the mains, greatly limiting noise pollution.

Applications: although mobile lighting masts and site lighting towers can be used in the same applications, we recommend the use of site lighting towers for more industrial applications. Industrial lighting masts have to withstand a wide range of stresses, such as weather, cold, heat, humidity, vibration and dust. These lighting columns must operate continuously to ensure the safety of workers, and a breakdown can entail significant costs. So, in addition to luminosity, the reliability of lighting equipment and masts is paramount.

Our range of mobile LED lighting columns for all your worksites

Our range includes two mobile lighting masts:

The K45 Lite, a multi-directional lighting column

The K45 Lite is a lightweight, compact lighting mast that can be easily transported in a vehicle. It weighs 23 kg (including mast, head and battery) and is supplied with carry bags.

It delivers 85,000 Lumens of concentrated, glare-free light (thanks to beam-control technology that limits light loss).

Its mast reaches a maximum height of 4 meters, enabling it to illuminate large areas. To power it, you'll need an additional rechargeable worksite battery, enabling you to use it for between 1 hour and 19 hours (depending on the battery model chosen) at full power. We offer a wide range of construction batteries, from 578 Wh to 15,400 Wh.

The Stratostar, a rechargeable or mains-powered lighting mast

The Stratostar floodlight is a hybrid multidirectional LED lighting mast, which can be powered by its battery (included) or by a 230V mains supply. Its minimum operating time is 3 hours, but can reach up to 48 hours depending on the power delivered by the LEDs. Its lighting heads can be rotated through 180° or 360° and deliver a maximum power of 115,000 Lumens. It is dimmable from 1% to 100% via a programmable LCD screen integrated into the battery. It can be raised to a maximum height of 4.50 meters thanks to its telescopic mast with manual winch, illuminating large areas of up to 3,850 m². A 12V USB socket is available on the battery for recharging other devices (telephone, drill, etc.).

K65 MK2 mobile lighting column: a lighting tower?

Is it possible to have a lighting tower as compact as a lighting column? With the K65 MK5, yes!

Thanks to its innovative, compact design, this lighting tower is quick and easy to set up, with a telescopic mast that can rise to a maximum height of 6.50 meters, and optimum stability on all outdoor terrains thanks to its adjustable feet . It can be used in a wide range of sectors, from construction to outdoor sports events.

Its main advantage? Its format ! This lighting tower can be folded in on itself, making it very compact and resembling a lighting column. Once folded, it can pass through door frames and be easily stored in a room. Wheels have been integrated into the structure for even easier transport.

The K65 MK5 is available in several versions: 97,000 Lumens, 146,000 Lumens and 195,000 Lumens, dimmable from 1% to 100%. Projectors can be rotated from 180° to 360°.

It can be powered by a 230V mains supply, a generator or an additional site battery.
